Breast Enlargement Surgery in Pune
Breast augmentation also known as breast enlargement to increase breast size. It includes placing breast implants under the breast tissue or chest muscles. For some women, breast augmentation is an approach to feel more confident. For others, it’s part of reconstructing the breast for various conditions.
If you’re thinking breast augmentation, talk to a plastic surgeon. Make sure you understand what surgery means, including possible risks, complications, and follow-up care.
What is a breast augmentation?
It’s an elective cosmetic surgical procedure designed to increase or bring symmetry to your breasts.
Breast augmentation can be done either through the transfer of fat from an area of your body or, more usually, through surgically inserting breast implants.
Applicants are people who simply want to enhance the size of their breasts or those who have lost volume in their breasts due to several different reasons, which can include:
- weight loss (sometimes due to surgical weight loss procedures)
- pregnancy
- breastfeeding
Other applicants include people who need to even out the balance of their physical symmetries. For example, someone who has smaller breasts and wider hips may desire to enlarge their breasts.
People who have asymmetrical breasts may also want to even out the size of their breasts through augmentation. Other applicants involve people whose breasts didn’t develop as required.
Why it’s done
Breast enlargement might help you:
Enhance your appearance if you believe your breasts are small or that one is smaller than the other and this affects how you dress or the type of bra needed to aid with the asymmetry
Adjust for a decrease in the size of your breasts after pregnancy or significant weight loss
Correct uneven breasts after breast surgery for other conditions
Enhance your self-confidence
Examine your goals with your plastic surgeon so that you can be realistic regarding what breast augmentation can do for you.
How does a breast augmentation work?
In breast augmentation, an implant or fat from your body is surgically implanted behind each of your breasts. The implants assemble either behind the muscles in your chest or behind the tissue of your natural breasts. This can increase your breast size by a cup or more. You can choose a shaped or round breast implant. The implant element works to boost the size of your breasts as well as give shape in areas that may have previously felt “empty.” Keep in mind breast enlargement isn’t the same procedure as a breast lift. A lift works to improve sagging breasts. Implants are commonly soft, flexible shells made of silicone that are filled with either saline or silicone. While there’s been some discussion surrounding the use of silicone implants, they’re still widely popular amongst people who choose breast augmentation surgery.
Procedure for a breast augmentation
If you choose to have breast enlargement surgery, you’re most likely to have it done in an outpatient surgical center or similar facility. Most maximum of the time, people can go home the same day as the procedure.
The procedure will most likely be administered under general anesthesia so you don’t feel any pain. Follow your surgeon’s guidance to prepare in the 24 hours before your procedure.
Your surgeon will fix your breast implants using one of three types of incisions:
- inframammary (beneath your breast)
- axillary (in the underarm)
- periareolar (in the tissue surrounding your nipples)
Your doctor will then create a pocket by separating the tissue of your breast from your chest muscles and tissue. Your implants will be placed inside these pockets and centered inside your breasts.
If you’ve opted for saline implants, your doctor will fill them with a sterile saline solution once the shell has been placed successfully. If you prefer silicone, they’ll already be filled.
After your doctor has placed your implants successfully, they’ll close your incisions with stitches, and then wrap them securely with surgical tape and surgical glue. You’ll be monitored in recovery, and then discharged to go home once the anesthesia wears off enough.
Preparing for a breast augmentation
To prepare for your procedure, you’ll need to understand preoperative instructions from your doctor. You’ll probably recommend not to eat or drink starting at midnight the night before your procedure. In the weeks before breast augmentation, your doctor will recommend you to stop smoking. Smoking raises your risk of complexities and restricts blood flow in the body. These can prolong healing after surgery. It’s also possible that smoking reduces your immunity, which enhances your risk of developing an infection.
